p: 773.753.4483

Cathy joined UCSC in March of 2013 and oversees UCSC’s center-wide operations and the federal work-study program that partners with nonprofit organizations, schools, and government agencies to connect eligible students with part-time employment during the school year and summer.

Prior to relocating to Chicago from Los Angeles, Cathy was a public relations and marketing consultant in the health care industry. Cathy’s work with nonprofit organizations began with the American Diabetes Association’s African-American Outreach Education Program in Los Angeles County, where she recruited doctors, diabetes educators, pharmaceutical reps, along with community and church leaders, to raise awareness of the overwhelming prevalence of diabetes amongst the African-American population. Through her successful fundraising efforts, she was able to bring some of the largest health fairs into the black communities of L.A.  Cathy also provided public relations support to Easter Seals and the March of Dimes.

Cathy received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and her public relations certification from UCLA.
