NEW Academic Year Internship Opportunities
This year, Summer Links is offering four different Acadmic Year Internship Opportunities as follows:
Chicago Commission on Human Relations
The intern will be asked to conduct an analysis to determine which types of complaints are being filed in which areas of the city, and by whom (based on the 16 protected classes such as race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc.) This project would also require the intern to analyze hate crime patterns in Chicago. This will compass looking at where different types of hate crimes are occuring in the city, who are the victimes, and who are the perpetrators.
Teamwork Englewood is seeking an intern to aid in the operations of our Re-entry Support Center. They will perform direct case management services to clients in the areas of job placement, legal counseling, expungement/sealing and conduct topic-specific workshops, trainings and resource fairs. Duties include assistance in the management of daily reentry center hotline calls, voicemails, and mailed correspondences, greeting walk-in clients, maintaining a calendar of scheduled appointments, and assisting in the production of promotional materials, flyers and coordination of materials required for trainings, workshops and outreach events.
Chicago Urban League
The Chicago Urban League is currently able to offer an internship to students wanting to gain experience in evaluation research. We focus on the League’s internal programming through our evaluation research. Evaluation & Learning is an ongoing process at the Chicago Urban League to ensure we are providing high quality, mission-driven programming and services that have the desired impact to promote economic empowerment, educational opportunity and social justice for African Americans in Chicago.
Little Village Environmental Justice Organization
You will help research transportation and infrastructure in and around Chicago’s Little Village Neighborhood. You will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with LVEJO policy associates and community organizers and have the on-the-ground exposure of research and community impact.
