Afternoon Tea with UCSC - Migration and Movement in the Windy Ci-Tea
Chicago is a city shaped, defined, and enriched by the movement of people from many backgrounds. It is a city of enclaves, of individuals from many cultures who made their way here for new beginnings.
We will look at how this history, both the challenges and the triumphs, inform the Chicago of today.
Its communities are vibrant, resilient, and here to stay.
We will consider what this means for our community engagement, and how to best support those who desire it.
And, of course, tea and cookies will be served!
About Afternoon Tea with UCSC:
Join us for weekly conversations about Chicago, civic engagement, and social change. These lightly-facilitated roundtables happen weekly and feature guest speakers, learning and reflection space, and social networking conversation over tea and other hot beverages, cookies, and snacks. Open to all students.
